Zaaboub Time?

Zaaboub Time?

Will Sofiene Zaaboub ever learn of his Hillsborough fate? The left-back has been on trial at Hillsboorugh for two weeks and boss Paul Sturrock has delayed his deicision for a further week today.

The Owls boss looked set to make a decision on the 23-year-old last week after watching him play for the reserve team but the Scot insists he will pledge his full fitness to the Owls first team fixtures this week and make a decision on the trialist next week.

Sturrock told the official SWFC site: 'I've talked to Sofiene's agent and found out the figures. It's ongoing and I'll probably talk to people again after Saturday.'

The former FC Brussels defender arrived at Hillsborough two weeks ago after being recommended to Owls boss Paul Sturrock by the same agent who brought David Friio to Hillsborough when Sturrock was at Plymouth Argyle.

Zaaboub has already had trials at Preston Noth End, Plymouth Argyle and Swansea City after leaving FC Brussels recently.

I think we are seeing another Scott Carson type cover up here. We are not going to get him, but Dave Allen keeps telling Paul Sturrock to keep the fans strung along, pretending we are actually intrested in signing a player, in 2 weeks time he will be playing for a rival club, and will probably score agaianst us. How long through the closed season were we fed the rubbish tha Scott Carson might be coming back, and deep down wee all knew he wasn't
