Wednesday await FA Cup draw

Wednesday are awaiting the draw for the fourth round of the FA Cup after putting their name in the hat with a 1-1 draw at Macclesfield Town on Saturday.

The Owls still have some work to do to progress after Macclesfield, the lowest-ranked side remaining in the competition, caused somewhat of a shock by coming from behind to force a Hillsborough replay.

Reda Johnson looked to have the Owls on their way to an expected victory when he fired the visitors ahead in the first half but Macclesfield improved on the resumption and levelled through Steve Williams to give them a second chance of a cup shock.

Stuart Gray's men will still be big favourites to progress, however, and one eye will be on the draw for the next round, which takes place today at 2pm.

Wednesday could face any of the Premier League giants in the next round, while Sheffield United could also be a possible opponent after they shocked Aston Villa 2-1 at Villa Park.

The Owls' cup replay against Macclesfield will take place at Hillsborough on Tuesday, January 14 (kick-off 7.45pm) and prices have been set at £10 for adults and £ for concessions.
