Lunt Wanted By Trio

Owls midfielder Kenny Lunt is being chased by three Championship clubs after failing to secure a first-team place at the club since arriving from Crewe in the summer.

Stoke City, Crystal Palace and Southampton are all set to re-kindle their interest in the midfielder in the January transfer window after missing out on his signature in the summer.

Lunt, a product of the famous Crewe youth set-up, has made just five starts for the Owls since his move to Hillsborough - a stat that has alerted other Championship clubs to his services.

And the Runcorn-born midfielder could leave the club on a loan deal before the Owls demand a significant transfer fee for his services.

But Lunt played the full 90 minutes for Wednesday in the 3-2 win against Queens Park Rangers at the weekend - and the new manager could well see the midfielder as a vital part of his plans at the club.

needs to be given a decent run in the team to show wat he can do b4 we think abt lettin him go

Exactly. It shows what kind of player he is when these teams are looking to get his services. Unfortunately we haven't seen enough of him, probably one of the few gripes I had with Sturrock. Looks like the caretaker boss is going to give him a go anyway, so we'll see what he's like in the coming weeks. We should get a decent fee for him if he was to leave, though. Three year contract wasn't it?
