Owls in-line for FA Cup derby clash

Wednesday will face derby foes Sheffield United in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup if they come through their fifth round clash against Charlton Athletic.

The Blades shocked Nottingham Forest 3-1 at Bramall Lane on Sunday and the draw for the last eight of the competition pitted them with another home clash against either the Owls or Addicks.

Wednesday's game against Championship rivals Charlton fell victim of the weather on Saturday and a rearranged date is yet to be confirmed.

But a potential derby clash will whet the appetite for sets of both Sheffield clubs - who have not met since February 2012 when Wednesday won 1-0 at Hillsborough thanks to Chris O'Grady's winner.

But the Owls still have to come through their tricky test against Charlton before they can think about a derby date, which would leave them just one win away from a Wembley appearance.

The quarter-final matches will be played on the weekend of March 8 and 9.

Arsenal v Everton
Brighton & Hove Albion or Hull City v Sunderland
Sheffield United v Sheffield Wednesday or Charlton Athletic
Manchester City v Wigan Athletic

Gloucblade are you starstruck again? Its a shame it isnt at Hillsborough then we could get nearly another 10 thousand in. i know your ultimate dream is to merge with Wednesday but it won't happen pal! Why don't you just have done with it and start supporting us - no one will notice!

As you are keen on correct English and punctuation its Radon not Rayon. Also I think you are getting me mixed up with someone else as I have always had a good grasp of the English language. Only last week your wife told me I had a MASSIVE diction. But then I am a Wednesday fan and everything is massive on the blue side!
