Corr Makes Scoring Return

Young Wednesday striker Barry Corr netted in the Owls' reserves 2-0 victory over Huddersfield Town last night as he stepped up his return to full fitness following a knee injury.

The Irishman picked up a knee injury in a reserve outing against Shrewsbury Town almost two weeks ago after recovering from a back injury which kept out towards the end of the 2005/06 season and the start of the current campaign.

But he now hopes to continue his step up towards full fitness and rejoin fellow former injury absentees Marcus Tudgay, Drew Talbot, Steve Maclean and Deon Burton as the Owls attacking options.

The 20-year-old former Leeds United youth product netted the opener on 19 minutes after Lee Bullen nodded back Rocky Lekaj's cross before substitute Matt Bowman secured the victory just after the hour mark with a neat finish from close-range.

First-teamers Glenn Whelen, Burton O'Brien, Lee Bullen and Drew Talbot also featured in the victory after all three missed out in the weekend victory over Queens Park Rangers.
