Takeover: French press say deal is done

French sports newspaper L'Equipe is reporting that Hafiz Mammadov has completed his takeover of the Owls.

The paper, France's biggest for sports news, says the Azerbaijani businessman, who is also majority shareholder with French club RC Lens, agreed a €50 million deal with Wednesday owner Milan Mandaric on Sunday night.

There has been no hint or confirmation from the club yet but a press conference could be announced for this week to reveal the deal.

Mandaric has been looking to sell the club for a number of months. He has always said he wants to leave it in good hands and he seems to have finally found his man in Mammadov.

His aim will be to get Wednesday back to the Premier League by the end of the season, according to the report, and improve facilities at Hillsborough. Mammadov also has interests in Azerbaijan club FK Bakou, Champions League finalists and La Liga champions Atletico Madrid and FC Porto.

Think you may be right there BM on a positive note though our recent three signings may have developed by then and available to by loaned out to Hartlepool or Mansfield. Mind you just think of the loan market which will be available to Stu Atletico Madrid, Porto, RC Lens & FK Bakou. but on a more serious note I reckon we could end up with a Froggy as a manager and bye bye to Stu with the lack of interest in the transfer market so far.

Sorry Radon but I saw something at the weekend on the East Coast that I have never seen before. There actually was someone wearing I kid you not in a Rotherham United shirt and after I stopped laughing he adamantly told me that they were going to be challenging for the top spot in the Premier League after next season and fully expects their loal support to swell from 3500 to 10000 every week I actually think he may be right on this one unfirtunately though most of the crowd will be singing "You're Supposed to be at Home" after all there just a small town in Sheffield
