Vital Sheffield Wednesday talks to 'Foxestalk' (www.foxestalk.co.uk - CLICK HERE) owner Mark about life at the Walkers Stadium, Milan Manderic, Iain Hume and much more...
1. Whats your start to the season been like?
The season couldn't start off much worse but since the start of October things really started to pick up, as we collected 3 wins and 2 draws last month. Although we're not still not scoring enough goals, and worrying not looking like doing so either.
2. Who have you brought in and let go over the summer?
In have come Darren Kenton (Southampton), Josh Low (Northampton), Gareth McAuley (Lincoln) and Andy Johnson (West Brom). Out of the four I'd say Gareth McAuley would have to be the top performer even though he wouldn't normally make the starting 11.
3. Are you happy with Rob Kelly?
Content. He's doing a decent job but focuses more on the defensive side on things making sure we don't lose too many games, instead of improving our non existent midfield.
4. Milan Manderic is looking to buy your club - whats the fans reactions been like?
I'd say 95% of the fans are all for it.
5. Who are your danger men?
It'd have to be Iain Hume who has been on top form of late and also right back Richard Stearman who just happened to score a cracking over head kick against you lot last season!
6. What are your weaknesses?
The whole midfield, but mainly left wing and right wing.
7. Hows former Wednesday target Iain Hume doing?
He's been right amongst the goals lately since Fryatt got injured which led to Hume getting regular starts, 5 goals in his last 5 games now. Our main threat.
8. If you could take one Owls player to Leicester who would it be and why?
Chris Brunt. I hear he is very inconsistent but from what I've seen he looks like he his the ability to come up with a goal out of nowhere.
9. If you could send one Leicester player to Wednesday who would it be and why?
I hear you're looking for a keeper? Rab Douglas is up for grabs.
10. What do you make of our chances this season?
To be honest I thought you were stuck in a rut under Sturrock, and at the time you gave him a 4 year contract I was baffled to say the least. Your Chairman has come under a lot of stick since the sacking and rightly so considering he just gave him a 4 year contract just a month ago, but I think this could well turn out to be the turning point in your season. A safe mid table finish as long as avoid going anywhere near Megson!
11. What do you think the score will be?
I'll go for 1-1.
Cheers Mark! It must be pretty good to be a Foxes fan at the moment - so hopefully the Manfaric takeover will soften the blow after we give you a good beating on Saturday! On a serious note, good luck for the rest of the season!
