Jones Set For Finale

On-loan goalkeeper Brad Jones is set to play his final game of his three-month loan spell from Middlesbrough in the Owls' clash with Leicester City at Hillsborough tomorrow.

The Australian stopper will have played 15 matches for the Owls since his move to Hillsborough from the Riverside just days before the start of the Championship campaign.

Hot on the heels of the disappointment of Scott Carson opting to join Charlton Athletic, Jones put in solid performance in his opening couple of matches for the Owls - but it was to be a rocky time for the 'keeper in a below-par opening to Wednesday's Championship campaign.

New loan rules mean teams cannot extend loan deals over a three-month perdiod during a season - meaning Caretaker boss Sean McAuley has already been on the lookout for a new Owls number one.

He told the official SWFC website: 'We'll be pursuing other interests that we've been working on over the last couple of weeks.

'Like any other professional football club, we've got targets everywhere and we'll look at bringing somebody else in.'

Wigan goalkeeper Mike Pollitt has been linked with a return to South Yorkshire after falling down the pecking order at the JJB Stadium since the arrival of Chris Kirkland in the summer - while fellow Wigan teammate John Filan, currently with Doncaster Rovers, has also been mentioned.
