Scunthorpe close on Llera deal
Scunthorpe United are close to signing former Owls defender Miguel Llera.
The Spaniard, who left Hillsborough at the end of last season, has been on trial with the Iron and played in United's 1-0 friendly victory over Huddersfield Town at the weekend.
And his performance at the heart of their defence could be enough to see him earn a permanent deal at Glanford Park for next season.
Llera had been on trial with Oldham Athletic and had been offered a deal by the Lancashire club but decided against a switch due to family reasons.
Now he looks set to complete a move to Scunthorpe and work alongside former Owls assistant boss Russ Wilcox, who is now manager.
