Owls hit by Lavery injury blow
Young Wednesday forward Caolan Lavery has been hit with a pre-season blow with the news that he will be sidelined for two months through injury.
The 21-year-old suffered a knee injury in the Owls' 2-2 friendly draw at neighbours Doncaster Rovers at the weekend and he will miss the start of the season.
The news is a blow for the player and the club but Owls boss Stuart Gray told the Yorkshire Post that the set-back could have been worse. "We thought it might have been an anterior cruciate ligament injury, but fingers crossed, it won`t be that. It is going to be a couple of months, minimum."
The news is compounded by that fact that Gray has not been able to set his transfer dealings in full motion as Wednesday await the green light for the takeover of the club to be completed.
