Good Luck Mr Laws

Good Luck Mr Laws

Vital Sheffield Wednesday contributor Mark Hollins airs his latest views on all things blue and white - and takes an optimistic view on the Owls new gaffer...

10 out of 12 or ten from twelve?

"The time to repair a roof is when the sun is shining"

It would be so easy for me to sit here and agree that there is no harm in keeping someone temporarily in charge… so easy…

After all, we`ve all seen rushed appointments here before? Right?

Nah.

It took Wednesday an age to appoint Danny Wilson after big Ron and look what happened there…. Not the best example I admit.

I for one believe Oscar Wilde when he mentioned something about gutters and stars… I don`t think Dave Allen is an astrologer however, unlike the more dreamy owls fan(me).

Speculation almost always comes before accumulation and there has never been a better time than now to try it… Get a big name to come and drag even higher crowds at Hillsborough. It`s not going to happen.

I have just heard the news that Brian Laws has finally been appointed, but I`m still not changing what I`ve wrote. I`m obviously praying that this is a genius swoop and Laws goes on to retain our status in the championship at a higher pegging than last year… hardly unachievable if the last four games are anything to go by.

Good luck Mr Laws…

I hope the appointment doesn`t bring with it a Steve McClaren style 'stamp of authority` and Laws does something to knock the stuffing out of our new found confidence. I was there on Saturday and it has been some time since I sat on a hard plastic blue chair in Sheffield and saw a performance like that - attacking, defending… midfielding?!?!... Anyway all was good and even the typical late scare was nothing of any huge concern and after all it wouldn`t be Wednesday without it!

Thanks Sean McAuley for your sterling efforts - he`s only 34!

Referring back to my original quote - here`s to hoping it doesn`t rain!

Prediction for Ipswich - 2 -1 defeat….

Prediction for Laws? Who knows, didn`t get a four year contract which is promising for him….

Time to flip a coin to see who goes in goal!

THE WEDNESDAY!!!

Cheers

Mark
