Allen-Sturrock Feud Continues

The on-going feud between former Owls boss Paul Sturrock and current Wednesday chairman Dave Allen continued today with Allen claiming the Scot hoodwinked the Owls fans.

The two have exchanged a war of words since Sturrock was sacked as Wednesday boss three weeks ago today - with Allen claiming today that Sturrock was 'very good at winning the fans over'.

He said: 'When Paul Sturrock came into the job he knew there was no money, but over his period of time he had £2million. The most expensive signing he made was a lad called David Graham and we only had him five minutes before he was out on loan.

'These things contribute to a man's demise you know. Paul was very good at winning the fans over to liking him, but the board paid him to win football matches.'

The news comes on the back of a number protest by fans at Hillsborough and on internet message forums against the current Owls board after the sacking the man that many saw as the best Wednesday manager in years.

Sturrock took over at Swindon Town last week and it's yet to be seen whether the former Wednesday boss will retaliate to the comments made by his former employer.

oh dear this one is going to run and run you get the feeling... there is clearly a number of differences between the two guy's.. and it is not for me to sit in judgement.. however, the constant rattling on like this in th emedia can only serve to undermine not so much sturrocks new position but the new management and any potential progress that is to be made here at swfc....... I think it is best for allen to get his head down and put all of his efforts into supporting the new management rather than wasting time and effort in winding up the fan base that are already clearly upset with him and calling for his head....

Lets just get Allen out he is an absolute waste of space....

why not get them in the ring and let them slug it out for charity? WOuld show more dignity than these spats in the press.

He just doesn't get it does he? By what means does he think Sturrock got us to like him? Buying us pints? Peeling grapes? Black Magic? He never offered us the kind of self-serving garbage Allen feed us. He didn't assume we were naive, stupid and childishly fickle like Allen clearly does.

We rates him has a great manager at Plymouth, we had little money he took over and he has a great friendship with our Chairman still. Sounds like the chairman should have been the one to go.

That was a bit harsh Natalie !! So you think he was wrong do you ? Would you rather be in bottom 3 watching boring football with no shots at the opposition goal, or would you prefer what you have see since he left ? Goals galore, and undefeated ? I know what i would choose
