Club Reject AGM Proposals

Club Reject AGM Proposals

Wednesday have released the voting results from the recent AGM meeting - and have distanced themselves further from the fans by defeating three of the six fan-related resolutions.

Donations from Wednesdayite, quarterly meetings between Wednesdayite, other fans groups and the Owls board and the resolution to appoint a supporters' representative to the current board have all been defeated following voting on Monday evening.

The results will do nothing to help the already-poor relationship between the Wednesday fans and the current board and have already caused unrest amongst fans on Owls message boards on the web.

Owls chairman Dave Allen already insisted he would refuse any donations from potential investors, including donations from Wednesdayite, unless the Owls board were allowed to choose where the money was spent.

Even so, the results today will not help relations between the club - who have already admitted in the media to struggle to keep such players as David Graham and former loanee Lloyd Sam because of wage demands - and fans groups such as Wednesdayite - whose members were in attendance at the meeting at Cutler's Hall on Monday night.

The fans' group, whose membership has reached over 1000 in just over a year, has already seen a £10,000 donation turned down by the club earlier this season on grounds that the club wanted to spend it their own way and not as intended by the group.

because the directors, who are all mates of allens, have about 20,000,000 of the shares!

Well when the voting rights are mainly in the hands of the directors what else can you expect? If the club had a big share issue for player/transfer funds you can bet your life that they still won’t come with voting rights.
