Who Are Yer?: Coventry City

In this week's 'Who Are Yer?' Vital Sheffield Wednesday speaks to Sky Blues fan Andy about City's current form, Micky Adams, Mikkel Bischoff, and his side's chances against the Owls this Saturday!...

--------------------------------------------

1. What has your start to the season been like?

The season started very promisingly after beating Sunderland in the first game, but since then it has been very dissapointing. Especially of late, the performances have been very poor and we're really lacking any sort of cutting edge.

2. What players did you bring on over the summer and have they been a success?

We brought in a ridiculous amount of players in the summer (Marshall, Ward, Bischoff, McNamee, Virgo, Birchall, Tabb, Andrews, Cameron, Kyle and McKenzie), but few have made much impact. Elliot Ward and Andy Marshall have been terrific for our defence. Leon McKenzie always looks dangerous, but badly needs a goal, and Jay Tabb looks a shrewd signing.

3. Hows life at the Ricoh now you've been there for over a year?

Last season we were practically unbeatable at home, which brought a great atmoshpere and it was terrific. This season though the crowds have started waining, and we've lost 3 out of the last 4 at home. It's generating money for the club, but the 'match day experience' is gradually feeling less special.

4. What do you think to Micky Adams?

Up until recently I've been a fan of his work. However I'm starting to see things that worry me about him tactically and in other areas such as man management of certain players. I'm not 100% convinced that he's really bothered at the moment, but I would love to be proved wrong.

5. What was it like losing your main man McSheffrey?

To lose him was a huge blow, and we're probably still feeling it. He brought something different to our attacking play, and our worrying lack of goals again points to his sale. Yes it was good money we got for him, but it's proving a big loss for us.

6. Mikkel Bischoff was top class for us last season when fit - hows he doing with you?

He hasn't played a game for us yet....he's already had 2 injuries! He's played a couple of games for the reserves recently though, and may even feature on Saturday.

7. Who are your danger men?

At the moment Leon McKenzie can cause problems with his pace, and if Jay Tabb gets another start he may well start to cause teams problems.

8. What are your weaknesses?

Passing sides always seem to be able to play their way around us, for whatever reason. Also we do lack pace at the back which is always a problem.

9. What do you make of the Owls chances this season?

I had you down to struggle, but your run of late has been miraculous. I can't see it continuing, but from what I've seen recently you should be fine in mid-table at the end of the season.

10. Whats your most memorable Coventry v Wednesday match?

Personally, my only memorable game against Wednesday was playing you last season at home, and winning 2-1. I do remember your fans making an absolute racket and Chris Brunt scoring another screamer against us!

11. What do you think the score will be?

I think we're due a victory after our appaling run. I think that it may be 2-1 to us again, very much like last season.

--------------------------------------------

Cheers Andy! Good luck to the Sky Blues for the rest of the season, even if you do have a blunt in charge!

NEXT UP - Cardiff City...

They aren't happy at the back so Burton and Tudgay shoulld do well. Might be worth a bet for McLean to come off the bench and score. 1-3 to Wednesday.
