Owls Appeals Turned Down

Wednesday have been unsuccessful in their attempt to have the red cards given to Wade Small and Chris Brunt at the weekend withdrawn.

Owls boss Brian Laws insisted he would be appealing against both sendings off as the Owls fell to a 3-1 defeat against Coventry City at the Ricoh Arena at the weekend with just nine men for 50 minutes of the clash.

But the FA have been swift in their reply by rejecting both appeals - which were made on Monday morning and will have cost the club - after a meeting of the FA appeals board today.

The news means Wednesday will be without Wade Small for three matches - Cardiff City and West Brom at home and Leicester City away before returning for the away clash at Carrow Road against Norwich City on Saturday, 9th December.

Brunt will miss just the one match for 'denying a scoring opportunity' and will sit out for the crunch clash with league leaders Cardiff City this Saturday.

Laws has already revealed he will be looking to make loan signings this week to cover the suspensions.

Once again the FA have shown their Anti - Sheffield Wednesday Bias. These are the same people who upheld Lee Bullen's suspension away at Preston, even though the Preston Player wrote to them saying he supported Bullen, and it shold not have been a sending off. So by banning Wade Small, the FA are saying it is OK to grab a mans Testicles and squeeze them hard, but if he reacts after been grabbed in the most sensitive area on a mans body, he must be sent off ?

And it happened blindingly quickly, didn't it? The FA are not known for moving fast, why this time?

Seen it on TV and thought the first red was a bit harsh but the 2nd was a red

There is no way that brunts was a sending off, but i think smalls was if he had just pushed him away he might have got away with it. But it doesnt matter now does
