Owls Track Liverpool Hitman

Owls Track Liverpool Hitman

Owls boss Brian Laws is rumoured to be chasing young Liverpool prospect Craig Lindfield with view to completing a loan deal for the young striker this week.

The Owls boss watched the England under-19 forward in action for Liverpool reserves yesterday and is a keen admirer of the striker.

And with Laws already confirming his interest in bringing loan players to the club following the suspensions to Wade Small and Chris Brunt - the youngster could be in line to go straight in to the clash with league leaders Cardiff City at the weekend.

Lindfield has been highly rated by the Liverpool coach's but is still a long way from getting first-team experience at Anfield and could well benefit from the experience of playing Championship football this season.

He's still eligable to play for Liverpool's under-18 side but has been a regular in the Reds' reserve side alongside some of Liverpool's first-team performers.

The former Scunthorpe boss has proved he has an eye for a goalscorer after bringing Steve Maclean to Scunthorpe from Rangers while also signing Billy Sharp, Andy Keogh and Paul Hayes for the Iron.
