Andrews Set For Owls

Coventry City frontman Wayne Andrews is set to be given the green light to sign for Wednesday on a loan deal until January this afternoon.

Owls boss Brian Laws had revealed that he's hoping to secure the loan services of an attacking player in light of the suspensions to Chris Brunt and Wade Small - and the former Crystal Palace man looks set to be his answer.

Andrews has struggled with injury problems since joining the Sky Blues on a free transfer from Palace in the summer - and boss Micky Adams has revealed the forward needs games to improve his fitness.

He said: 'Wayne Andrews has only just got going really, and needs games.

'I have spoken to him about it and told him that maybe it might be worth him going out for a month to get some games in a team somewhere, so we will look at that in the next couple of days, but he just needs match fitness.

The transfer is set to be completed this afternoon in time for Andrews to be available for the Owls crunch clash with Cardiff City at the weekend - after featuring for the Sky Blues against Wednesday on Saturday.

Not seen much of him but Ive heard he's fast and strong so should be a decent short-term replacement for Small

Yeh, pretty good choice, I'd say.

I see it from our point of view, but why are coventry loaning a player to a direct rival? He is a part of their match squad and played against us last week so he should be able to get games with them. How foolish is Adams going to look if he does well and we go a few points clear of coventry thanks to Andrews?
