We're Flying Without Wings...

Vital Sheffield Wednesday contributor Mark Hollins airs his weekend views - and points towards the Owls' wing play as key to tomorrow's clash with the league leaders...

--------------------------------------------

'Jump, and you will find out how to unfold your wings as you fall.'

Width. Wingmen. Crossing. Down the right. Down the left. Whip it in. Get it out wide. Spread it. Switch it.

I think the words above have been pivotal in our recent upturn, pivotal. Obviously we can't forget the front two's contribution however, what I've seen is enough to tell me that in playing our best and most threatening football in some time, we've learned to spread our wings, for want of a phrase without cheese.

Brunt and Small have reveled, Small has his pace and Brunt the creativity. They've both chipped in with a goal too.

I really feel that, in the games previous to Coventry, the team may have built up an attitude, rightly so, to get it down the flanks. This may put pressure on the temporary replacements, personally, or rather controversially, I'd go with Tudders swinging the right hook and Hills knocking em from the West.

Hopefully whatever Dr Laws puts out there will succeed but its going to be hard work on Saturday and, for anyone who went to the corresponding last year, were going to need a goal or two at least to find a point.

We could always rely on newbie Andrews to repeat his 1999 Peterborough debut, should he rid himself of stalkers at the WASG.

Well, short but sweet, off to arrange a carboot sale, so far I have a Game Boy, some old clothes, Steve Adams and Chris Adamson… anyone want any useless old junk they want rid of?
