Owls Draw City

Wednesday have drawn Premiership opposition in the third round of the FA Cup as Stuart Pearce's Manchester City make the trip over the Pennines in January.

The tie will provide a stern test for Brian Laws in his first cup game in charge of the Owls - with a decent cup run the key to providing funds for new players at the end of the season.

And it will also pit Laws up against his former Forest team-mate on the weekend of January 6th.

He told the official SWFC website: 'I played there last year and we gave a good account of ourselves. It's a great draw against my old mucker Pearcey.'

'It's a chance to get through. Manchester City haven't been travelling that well recently. All you can ask for is a home draw and that's what we've got.'

Wednesday crashed out of the prestigious competition at the first stage last season as an in-form Charlton Athletic side left Hillsborough with their name in the hat for the fourth round following a 4-2 victory.

Happy with that, the away end full, a team who aren't quite firing on all cylinders. Great. Still wish it was the Blunts though.

You'll have a good chance depending on which City turn up. They were awesome when they played us last week but can be dreadful on a bad day.
