Manager's Musings: Post-Foxes

Wednesday boss Brian Laws insists his side can still keep improving - despite recording a season best victory over struggling Leicester City at the Walkers Stadium on Saturday.

Laws felt his side relied on three top class strikes from Chris Brunt, Glenn Whelen and Marcus Tudgay aswell as a dubious first-half spot-kick to earn them victory over the 10-man Foxes.

He told the official SWFC site: 'We can play better - we have been doing - so I have a tinge of disappointment. I felt sorry for Leicester. They started the game better than us and didn't allow us to settle. I've told the players not to get carried away. We must take it one game at a time.'

'They gave us a scare at 2-1. Mark Crossley had to make two great saves. That's the importance of having a good goalkeeper behind you.'

And Laws heaped praise on the three wonder-goals which helped the Owls to victory as he told BBC Sport: 'Funnily enough we had a great shooting session in training on Thursday but I certainly wasn't expecting anything like this. Penalty aside, they were three of the best goals I've seen in a long time.

'You are usually lucky to see one of those but we've scored three and that's amazing. We may have been comfortable but we still had to work hard for it.'
