January Sales!

The January sales are fast approaching - and maybe, just maybe Brian Laws will have some cash to spend, but what position would YOU choose to strengthen?

This week's poll on Vital Sheffield Wednesday is asking fans which area they would ideally like to strengthen in the January transfer window - should Owls' chairman Dave Allen hand Brian Laws a christmas transfer kitty.

There are sure to be some movers and shakers to and from Hillsborough - but what extent will the changes be, and what positions need to be addressed?

The goalkeeping situation certianly needs to be resolved with just one contracted goalkeeper at the club on a permanant basis in Chris Adamson - with Mark Crossley and Shwan Jalal's loan deals due to expire in January.

Should these deals be made permanant or should Brian Laws look elsewhere to fill the vacant number one jersey?

Do the Owls need any more defenders? Last season's player of the year Graham Coughlan has found himself out of the team following the fine form of Lee Bullen and Madjid Bougherra and Richard Wood is also on the comeback from injury. Tommy Spurr, John Hills and Peter Gilbert can all operate at left-back so will one of them be shown the door?

Is Glenn Whelen's future at Hillsborough still secure? Former gaffer Paul Sturrock transfer listed the midfielder at the start of the season but Laws has since said he's a part of his plans - but with Kenny Lunt and Yoann Folly in fine form will Whelen be on his way to fund new signings?

And Marcus Tudgay seems to have found some form of late, but are his strike partners really pulling their weight? Do Wednesday need a proven goalscorer in this division alongside him to mount a serious play-off push?

Have YOUR say NOW in this week's Vital poll - by selecting your favoured position for strengthening in January.
