Hammers Keen On Brunt
Wednesday winger Chris Brunt has been the subject of a scouting mission from the West Ham scouts - but an approach has not yet been made for the highly-rated youngster.
Brunt is the top-scoring midfielder in the Championship with seven goals in 21 starts for the club and has helped the Owls to 12th in the league with some top-class performances.
And Wednesday boss Brian Laws says it's a sign of how well the 21-year-old is performing of late.
He told the Sheffield Star: 'I haven't heard anything about this, but this sort of thing is always likely to happen when your team are doing well. It's a lift for Chris and for us, because it shows how well we're doing, and I've said before that he is capable of playing at the top level.'
The Hammers have not yet made an approach for the Northern Irish international - and with the sacking of boss Alan Pardew this week any potential deal could now be dead in the water.
Former Wednesday boss Chris Turner brought Brunt to Hillsborough on a free transfer after being released by Middlesbrough - and the winger has made 83 league appearances for the club, scoring 18 goals along the way.
