Owls Await Injury News

Wednesday boss Brian Laws will be sweating over the fitness of Mark Crossley and Wayne Andrews for the weekend clash with Southampton after both limped off in Saturday's defeat to Birmingham.

The biggest worry for Owls' fans will be the injury picked up by goalkeeper Mark Crossley in the last ten minutes of the match - leaving captain Lee Bullen to take the goalkeeper gloves for the second time as an Owls player.

But Laws is hoping to Fulham loanee will be fit for the visit of Southampton next weekend.

He told the official site: 'Mark came off as a precaution and I will be disappointed if he is not ready for next week.'

Should injury fail to make the clash with the Saints reserve goalkeeper Chris Adamson looks set to take the number one jersey with fellow loanee Shwan Jalal yet to make the squad since moving from Woking.

Meanwhile, winger Wayne Andrews picked up a knee injury in the first half of Saturday's match and will be assessed on Monday. Andrews is currently in discussions about extending his loan deal with the club but any injury could scupper his hopes.
