Thorvaldsson Set For Owls?

Thorvaldsson Set For Owls?

Icelandic international and Hannover 96 striker, Gunnar Heidar Thorvaldsson, is set to join Wednesday on loan until the end of the season according to reports in Iceland.

The report, taken from Iceland newspaper Fréttablaðið suggests the striker and his agent have been in discussions with Owls boss Brian Laws about a move to Hillsborough in January to help regain his fitness.

Thorvaldsson's agent, Olafur Gardarson, told the paper: 'He (Thorvaldsson) will travel to England next week and begin training. He's exited by the prospect of playing in England.'

The striker joined Hannover from Swedish top-flight club Halmstad last summer but has since suffered from injuries which have kept him from getting a good run in the first-team at the German club.

Owls boss Brian Laws will be keen to strengthen is squad in the January transfer window as they sit just three points from the Championship play-offs - but no names have been mentioned from S6 as possible targets.

Interesting link and he seems like a decent player. Only a few days to wait to see what happens!

It is good competition. Burton, Tudgay & Maclean are all scoring, so it will mean they have to keep their form up, or lose their place
