Andrews Returns To Sky Blues

On-loan Wednesday winger Wayne Andrews has returned to Coventry City despite the efforts of boss Brian Laws to convince Micky Adams to further extend the deal.

Andrews arrived as cover for Wade Small - who has been sidelined for over a month through a knee injury - and filled a gap for the Owls on the right wing.

And Wednesday boss Brian Laws enquired about extending the former Crystal Palace and Colchester striker's deal, only to be told Andrews would only be allowed to leave the Ricoh Arena on a permanent deal.

Laws told the official SWFC site: 'Coventry have taken Wayne back and we would like to thank him for his contribution in his time at the club.'

The 29-year-old made eight appearances in the famous blue and white shirt, netting just one goal in the Owls impressive 3-0 victory over Barnsley in the South Yorkshire derby last month.

His performances helped Wednesday to within three points of the Championship play-off spots and his departure will leave Brian Laws with a problem on the right hand side with Wade Small not yet fully fit to return to first-team action.
