Who Are Yer? Man City

City fan Danny Lennon takes time out to talk to Vital Sheffield Wednesday ahead of the Owls FA Cup 3rd Round clash with Stuart Pearce's men at Hillsborough this Sunday.

-------------------------------------------

1. How important is the FA Cup to City this season?

The FA CUP is always important to a team like ours. We dont really have a chance of winning anything else other then the Carling cup and the FA cup. You see to actually win something would be a refreshing change. Considering iv never actually seen City win anything (with me being only 21).

2. How did you do in last year's competition?

We did very well, leaving the competiton in the quarter finals of the cup. We lost to West Ham at the City of Manchester stadium 2-1. The game just came to soon for us. We had alot of players out injured for the game and we had actually played something like 3 games in under a week (or something silly like that)..It was just one game too many and finally killed our hopes of actually winning something.

3. You've hit some form recently - are you confident of progressing on Sunday?

I could answer this question in depth...But i wont, simply because we're Manchester City!!...The most unpredictable club in England if not the World!!...Who knows what will happen, MCFC + FA CUP = WHO KNOWS!!

4. What are your opinions on Stuart Pearce?

Now this is simply MY OPINION...Id love nothing more then him to be succesful with us, and finally lead us to a cup final. But i just cant see it happening. Hes made some good signings yet some very poor ones. The likes of Corradi and Samaras just arnt good enough. They show signs but then just let themselves down again. Samaras has been poor all season yet then goes and scores 2 goals against Everton, so who am i to judge him.

One problem with Pearce is his inexperience of football management. He is a great motivator, but really apart from that, what does he offer?. I just think sometimes he needs a little help. Id love to see a more experienced number 2 come in at city, to just support Pearce along the way.

5. Joey Barton will be missing through suspension - how big a miss will he be?

Joey Barton is quite simply a fantastic player. Who just keeps getting better and better. I didnt like Joey at all a season ago. I wanted him out, he just hit the headlines for the wrong reasons time and time again. Yet this season we have seen a new Joey, a Joey that does quite simply EVERYTHING. He takes corners, free kicks, penalty's, hes our defensive mid yet our creative mid!!...5 Premiership goals he has to his name already and I can see him doubling that easily. He will be a great miss even if we have won 2 games on the trot without him.

6. How good is Micah Richards? And can you hold on to him through the transfer window?

Micah is quite simply a brilliant player. You show me a stronger more athletic 18 year old in the Premiership? I cant think of anyone. Micah has everything you want in a player. He can tackle, hes fast and hes a great header of the ball. He leaps like no other player we have.

One thing i bet you didnt know is that he is not a right back!!...Hes a centreback or defensive midfielder. He will most likely play in the middle of the park against Sheffield Wednesday on sunday.

7. What's your most memorable Owls v City match?

Being quite young i cant remember many. But the one i do remember was when we beat your lot 6-2 at Hillsbrough. You were beating us twice in the game but we just shone through and showed real class. THEY WERE THE DAYS. Our team that day was a team i could watch anyday of the week over our current one. We had the likes of the legendary Shaun Goater playing, plus the likes of Big Paulo Wanchope and one of the most talented players of all to play for our club Ali Benarbia..

If Sunday is anything like that game, i will go home a very happy City fan.

8. What's your most memorable City FA Cup memory?

One comes to mind. And its probably the greatest match iv seen city play in...

Spurs 3-4 City

WOW...3 nil down at half time, Anelka off injured. Barton sent off..So down to ten men and losing 3-0. One man shone through and shown the world how good he could be. A certain Shaun Wright Phillips. I will never forget that game. I just wish i was there sad.gif

9. Who are your danger men?

We don't have any!! and I'm being serious!! Our strikers offer us nothing really, we also have no creative midfielder. Our danger man is normally a certain Joey Barton, but he wont be around!!...

Saying all of the above, if Samaras plays like he did against Everton he will be our danger man. He has moments which can change matches, even if they dont come often..

10. What are your weaknesses?

Our BIGGEST weakness is scoring goals. I have the feeling we will have alot of chances and will waste them like we always do. We just need a goalscorer. That is probably our only weakness. As we are really sound at the back. (one of the best in the league in my opinion)

11. What's your score prediction and why?

Well im a very negative City fan. I cant help it really. I just cant see where we are going to score from. As i mentioned I dont think we have a goalscorer and that is why we are going to lose this match 1-0. I can see us having chance after chance yet never killing you off. You will then poke one in on about the 70 minute mark. To send us blues home with a major headache...

-------------------------------------------

CHEERS DANNY! Good luck on Saturday and for the rest of your Premiership campaign...

NEXT UP - DERBY COUNTY!
