Donny Loan Gilbert

Wednesaday left-back Peter Gilbert has joined League One outfit Doncaster Rovers on a one-month loan deal as he looks to regain full fitness following a knee injury.

Rovers boss Sean O'Driscall acted quickly to pen the services of the former Leicester City and Plymouth defender to help bolster his squad as they look to continue their push for promotion from League One.

Owls boss Brian Laws told the official site: 'It will be good experience for him to get some games. He is desperate to play and I'm hoping to go and watch him at their new stadium.'

The Keepmoat Stadium club are hoping to complete the singing in time for Gilbert to make his first appearance for them in Tuesday's Johnstones Paint Trophy tie at home to Darlington.

The 23-year-old has not featured for Wednesday since picking up a knee injury in the clash at Wolves back in March, and is keen to up his fitness following months on the sidelines.

If we get what we paid for him I'd take it, especially with Spurr doing well and Hills also able to play at left-back. The money can be better spent elsewhere than having three players for one position!

Sounds like you don't like him much. He didn't do that well at Plymouth either.
