Talbot Completes Scunthorpe Loan

Young Wednesday striker Drew Talbot is set to complete a one-month loan deal to League One side Scunthorpe United after recovering from a back injury.

The deal will mark new Iron boss Nigel Adkins' first transfer at the club, with Talbot likely to be played as part of a rotation system to bolster the Scunhtorpe attack and also help him regain full fitness.

The former Barnsley trainee has struggled with injuries this season. Despite making his long awaited return from a back injury at the start of the campaign, Talbot has picked up niggling injuries which have restricted him to eight appearances for the Owls this season.

And former Scunthorpe boss Brian Laws will be hoping the loan move will help out the youngster in his quest to return to full fitness - and will also help his former club maintain their position in the top two of League One.

Talbot is the second Owl to make a loan move away from Hillsborough this week with Peter Gilbert, also looking to return to full fitness, making the move to Doncaster Rovers earlier in the week.
