Burton Linked With MK Dons

Owls striker Deon Burton has been linked with a move away from the club - to League Two outfit MK Dons - following the arrival of Leon Clarke at Hillsborough.

The former Derby hitman has been a part of Ows boss Brian Laws' plans in recent weeks, but the arrival of the former Wolves frontman to Hillsborough could spell the end of the Jamaican international's time at S6.

Talking of his selection of strikers at Hillsborough, boss Brian Laws told the Sheffield Star: 'We have excellent strikers but they're also very similar to one another.'

With Marcus Tudgay tied to a four-year deal at Hillsborough, and Laws currently in negotiations to tie up Steve Maclean's future at the club, the 30-year-old could well be the one to see the exit door to allow more wages for incoming players.

And Burton, who has netted just four goals for the Owls this season, is already well known to MK Dons boss Martin Allen after playing under his leadership at Brentford over two years ago.
