Owls/Sunderland Clash In Doubt
Wednesday's vital Championship clash with Roy Keane's in-form Sunderland side has been plunged in to doubt today following the freak weather conditions across the country.
The Owls ground staff are working hard on the Hillsborough pitch after heavy rainfall in S6 over the last few days - but a Saturday morning pitch inspection could be the likely decision with similar weather conditions expected over the next few days.
The Owls have not postponed a home match due to weather conditions since February 1994 - almost 13 years ago - and Wednesday officials expect the match to go ahead as scheduled but have advised fans to keep checking the local media over the next few days.
A bumper Hillsborough crowd is expected at the match , with both sides in decent form and pushing for the play-offs. The Mackems have sold over 6,000 tickets as Roy Keane travels to Hillsborough for the first time as boss.
Owls fans, and Sunderland fans, are advised to keep checking their official websites and local media - and of course Vital Football will have all the latest news in the run up to the match.
