Sasso In Team Of Midweek (17/2/17)

Sasso In Team Of Midweek (17/2/17)

Sheffield Wednesday are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week's action.

The performance by Vincent Sasso in the two one victory over Blackburn Rovers in midweek at Hillsborough was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we'll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Sasso was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice - the FL blurb read.

'Sheffield Wednesday further cemented their place in the Sky Bet Championship top six with a hard-earned 2-1 victory over Blackburn Rovers. Sasso was the unlikely hero, popping up from defence to net both goals for the promotion-chasing Owls.'

It's always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Sasso for his recognition, but the most important thing about the game was of course the points.

Full Team:

Luke Daniels (Scunthorpe United), Enda Stevens (Portsmouth), Peter Clarke (Oldham Athletic), Vincent Sasso (Sheffield Wednesday), Jake Buxton (Wigan Athletic), Jason Demetriou (Southend United), Kadeem Harris (Cardiff City), Jimmy Smith (Crawley Town), Gavin Massey (Leyton Orient), Tom Bradshaw (Barnsley), Billy Kee (Accrington Stanley).

Manager - David Artell (Crewe Alexandra).

Well deserved too. Personally I'd prefer to see him at the back partnering Tom Lees. Loovens makes too many sideways/backward passes for my liking.
