Owls Recall Reet

Owls Recall Reet

Young striker Danny Reet has been re-called to Hillsborough after spending a successful 2 months on loan at League Two side Bury.

Reet spent an initial one month loan spell at Gigg Lane which was extended by Paul Sturrock after proving a success. The extra month contained a 24 hour release clause which has been activated.

Sturrock has been desperate to sign a striker and has been relying on youngster Barry Corr to provide the goals. Lee Peacock and David Graham have carried knocks, and Steve Maclean and Drew Talbot have been out all season.

Bury manager Chris Casper said: 'It's disappointing to lose such a good player. I'm very pleased for Danny and everything has worked out well for him during his time here. Hopefully now he will go straight into Sheffield Wednesday's team on Saturday at Burnley.'

'He was great during his time here, Danny is a good player and showed great attitude. He's scored four goals in six games during his time here, as well as playing the top teams in our division. I am sure that he will score goals at any level.'

Reet scored four times in seven appearances for the Shakers, and will be hoping to go straight in to the Owls squad that travels to Burnley on New Years Day, in a bid to make his first start for the club.

Casper added: 'If things change in January, I will defiantly look at getting him back to Gigg Lane.'
