Vital Match Reaction - Carlos Praises Royals Keeper
The morning after the night before and some fans still appear angry online, some call for the voss to replaced (with whom???) and some call for calm heads!
Wednesday chief Carlos Carvalhal isn't ready to throw in the playoff towel and states that there is plenty left in the Owls players tanks. This despite dominating the game against Reading but after a quick attack and curled effort beyond Westwood to open the scoring Al Habsi in the Royals goal took over and repelled Wednesday on his own. Allowing the Royals to break away and steal a second at the death, cementing their three-points.
A huge setback as Fulham can crawl over the Owls into the Playoff places, but it isn't over yet for the Owls and Carvalhal insists his side will return from the international break stronger as he told swfc.co.uk:
"This has been one of the hardest weeks of my career. We have already lost key players and this week we lose another one with Ross Wallace.
"But still the players did fantastic tonight and I am proud of them, proud of the club and proud of the fans, who were amazing from the first whistle to the last.
"Everyone who sees that game can see that we should have won comfortably but somehow we lose 2-0. It is unbelievable.
Al Habsi, was class and kept a clean sheet despite the best efforts of the Owls multi-million pound strike force, something Carlos noticed, and he added:
"But this can happen in football. The goalkeeper was fantastic on the night, we had seven or eight chances but could not put the ball in the net.
"This was the difference tonight and what we spoke about in the dressing room was coming back stronger.
"We have the belief and during this break I am hopeful some players will recover and be ready for our last eight games, which will be finals."
