Talbot 'Not For Sale'

Young Wednesday striker Drew Talbot is 'not for sale' according to Owls boss Brian Laws - amid speculation the striker could make a permanent move away from the club.

The Barnsley product has been enjoying a successful loan spell at Laws' former club Scunthorpe this month - sparking speculation the striker could well be set for a permanent switch to the League One side.

There have also been rumours that the youngster is a target of Wednesday's Championship rivals Luton Town following the recent departure of Rowan Vine from Kenilworth Road.

But Brian has laid down the Laws on Talbot, insisting that he will make a full judgement on the player when he returns to full fitness.

He told the Sheffield Star: 'He is not up for sale; I think people are speculating because Andy Keogh has gone.

'Scunthorpe were struggling for a striker; Drew's loan helped them and it helped him and me because it is getting him some games, and when he has sharpened his match fitness it will help me to make a solid judgement about him.'

Talbot has already impressed for the Iron, who have recently lost the highly-rated Andy Keogh to Wolves, scoring in the Iron's 2-2 draw with Doncaster Rovers at the weekend.

Looks like Luton for Talbot, £250 +. Must be fully fit now. We should keep him, no other pace up front

£250? That's pretty cheap isn't it! I agree that we should keep him though.
