Vital Match Reaction - Carlos Pleased With Win At QPR

The pressure was on for Wednesday with Fulham, Reading and Leeds all at home on Bank Holiday Monday. But, Carlos Carvalhal`s charges had that winning mentality as they followed up their hard fought win over Cardiff City with a nail biting 2-1 win over QPR at Loftus Road to make it four-in-a-row.

Reach smashed home the first, but following a mix up in the Owls back line Sylla chipped home a leveller. Before, a whipped free-kick was met by Rhodes and on the rebound Daniel Pudil who nodded home what proved to be the winner.

Speaking after the match to swfc.co.uk, Carvalhal said:

"We knew that this would be one of our more difficult games. To play away against a technical team like QPR is not easy.

"We had to be very strong mentally in this game and I am very happy that we did this, because this is how we won the three points today.

"We now have four wins in a row, and in the five games since the international break we have not lost.

With Leeds dropping points and out of the Playoff picture, by just a few points it appears to be a shootout between Wednesday, Reading, Leeds and Fulham to join Huddersfield in the EFL Championship Playoffs. With Derby and Norwich having three-game remaining and ten points adrift, the top seven clubs have pulled away and without doubt been the best teams this season. Carlos isn't unaware of this fact but knows that all points in this league are earnt as he added:

"We are in a good way at this point in the season, and we will continue to focus on ourselves in these last three games.

"I want to say thank you to our fans because they were fantastic today throughout the game.

"They follow us very strongly home and away and they help us to do well, because at the end we just want to do well for them."
