Bougherra Completes Addicks Move
Former Wednesday defender Madjid Bougherra has finally put an end to speculation over his future by putting pen to paper on a £2.5m deal with Premiership strugglers Charlton Athletic.
The Owls had agreed a fee with the Addicks towards the end of last week and the Algerian international saw his Premiership dream come true by signing a contract with Alan Pardew's men on Sunday evening.
The deal is also set to earn Wednesday more money in add-on clause's should Bougherra move on from the Valley in years to come.
The former Crewe Alexandra loanee made the move to Hillsborough last summer under former Owls boss Paul Sturrock from French club FC Gueugnon for a fee believed to be around £300k.
Bougherra made 29 appearances for Wednesday and netted two goals along the way before expressing his desire to move to the top flight after a number of clubs including the Addicks, Birmingham City, Reading and Everton had shown interest.
