Play-Off Pain Again For Wednesday, But Let's Look Forward

I never thought I'd be writing an article like this again, after Playoff Final defeat last season to Hull City in a game that won't be remembered as anything special. Wednesday failed to complete the task handed down by Chansiri and the fans as well this season. Given the disappointment, pride and overall feeling of what could have been for our beloved Owls as we watched Forestieri`s penalty saved by Ward in the Terriers net.

However, it must first be said congratulations to Huddersfield Town and their talented manager David Wagner. The much in demand German boss now has a chance to take Town into the Premier League with Owls eyes looking on in envy.

For Wednesday, disappointment on the day will be forgotten come August as the Owls look to go again in the Championship facing the likes of Aston Villa, Sunderland, Hull, Middlesbrough, Burton Albion and of course our noisy neighbours Sheffield United. The undeniable target has to be to duplicate Brighton this past season and Middlesbrough the season before by erasing Playoff agony to automatic promotion dreams. Dejphon Chansiri`s aim when he took charge to see the club back in the Premier League by our 150th Anniversary it maybe a more fitting celebration with the Championship title. Calls for changes will happen but breaking up a formula that has delivered improvement and two Playoff campaigns in a row is foolish without much consideration.

The game and result almost doesn't matter but the stats, talking points, highlights and more will be on Vital Wednesday over the coming days, if you can take reading them!

Let's forget this day and move on as Carlos still has a dream! And ending on a massive positive despite the disappointment we're all feeling the travelling Wednesdayites were amazing once again and we at Vital Wednesday where there right there with you.
