Johnson Set For Owls

Wednesday have agreed a deal with League One side Bradford City over a deal to bring pacey striker Jermaine Johnson to Hillsborough for a fee in excess of £250,000.

Wednesday boss Brian Laws had been watching the Valley Parade crowd favourite in recent weeks and has decided on a move for the striker to strengthen his attacking options following the sale of Drew Talbot to Luton Town last week.

The Jamaican still has to agree terms with the Owls today but is expected to sign on the dotted line before the end of the transfer window at midnight tomorrow - although his sending off against Yeovil on Saturday means he will be suspended for the first two matches on his Wednesday career.

Derby County already had a £250,000 deal knocked back for the striker, but he has a clause in his contract allowing him to move clubs should a certain offer be matched - an offer believed to be met by the Owls.

Johnson was picked up on a free transfer from Jamaican club Tivoli Gardens in the summer after spending a successful loan spell at Oldham Athletic. He made 26 starts for the Bantams in the league, netting four goals.

Don't really know much about Johnson, but from what I can see he looks sharp. We lack pace upfront so hopefully he can provide a different attack option. COME ON YOU BLUE AND WHITE WIZARDS!!!!
