'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Former Owl Nets Award

Former Wednesday striker Lee Peacock has been rewarded for his fine form in January by picking up the PFA Fans' Player of the Month award for League Two.

Peacock, who now plays under boss Paul Sturrock at League Two high-flyers Swindon Town, netted just the one goal for the Robins in January but was a key part in helping the side to four wins, one draw and a defeat in the month.

He told the official STFC site: 'I'm over the moon. I didn't expect it until I got a phone call. I understand the Town fans have been voting like crazy on the websites so credit to the fans really. Any recognition like this is fantastic and I'm really pleased.

'It's been a good month. Getting a goal in front of the Town End was a fantastic feeling last weekend against Macclesfield Town and having taken a point at Peterborough too, it has been productive week.'

The former Manchester City and Bristol City hitman was a key figure in the Owls geting promotion to the Championship via the League One play-off spots and netted six goals in his 37 appearances for the club.

Good to hear he's getting on well at STFC....

To be honest that's about his level, always 100% effort though. Liked him for that.
