Laws' Musings: Post-PNE

Wednesday boss Brian Laws has his say following the Owls' disappointing 3-1 home defeat to high-flying Preston at the weekend which leaves them without a win in 2007.

Wednesday made a bright start to the clash with Paul Simpson's men on Saturday as Deon Burton gave the Owls an early lead - but a Brett Ormerod leveller and goals either side by star man David Nugent gave the visitors all three points.

But the Owls boss believes it wasn't down to the class North End possess - but down to three errors at the back which seem to be costing his side dearly of late.

He told the official SWFC site: 'We gave Preston all their goals without them having to work for them. We shot ourselves in the foot because our decision-making was indefensible.

'We've got to eradicate these silly errors and make the right decisions in the right areas. We're lacking in confidence and, when you're low on confidence, you have to go back to basics.'

And Laws went on to say that the Owls up-coming fixtures will be a true test of character for his side - starting with a trip to Burnley next Saturday, a side who are without a win in ten matches.

He added: 'We've got to turn it around, and the sooner the better. When results go against you, that's when you find out what you've got in your squad. It's about character and we'll have to dig very deep.'

We could eradicate the erros had you brought some defenders in!!

yeah great idea!!! lets panic buy / loan defenders who aren't good enough!!! that would eradicate errors!!! 1 error was from midfield by lunt (somehow playing instead of folly), crossley with a poor clearence and then beaten at his near post and one from a 17 year old who could be excused a sliced clearence on his home debut! we didnt create much going forward either.
