Bullen: 'We Deserve Flak'

Wednesday captain Lee Bullen has insisted the Owls must be able to take the rough with the smooth and has revealed he's confident they can soon put their poor run of form behind them.

Bullen, speaking to Radio Sheffield hot on the heels on the disappointing 3-1 home defeat to Preston on Saturday, has seen the Owls go from promotion candidates to mid-table obscurity in a matter of weeks following a disastrous start to 2007 which has seen the Owls without a win.

And the Scot insisted the side have to take the flak after lapping up the praise during their good run over November and December.

He said: 'We're delighted to take the pats on the back when things are going right; now we have to be strong enough to take the flak when it's deserved.

'It's a disappointing run but that's the same group of players, give or take one or two faces, that dragged us to the fringe of the play-off places before Christmas.

'Our fixtures in January were tough. But we are better than zero points out of 15. We should have got more. If you look at the games coming up, we should pick up points.'

And Bullen will be hoping to give a winning interview this Saturday as the Owls travel to Turf Moor to take on Burnley - with the Clarets having similar problems to Wednesday with no wins in ten games.

Good man, Bullen. If everyone gave as much as he did we wouldn't be in this situation of a losing streak.
