Brunt Set For Wales Test

In-form Wednesday winger Chris Brunt is set to get the chance to impress Northern Ireland boss Lawrie Sanchez in tonight's international friendly clash against Wales at Windsor Park.

The Belfast-born winger - currently top scorer for the Owls this season - has been included in Lawrie Sanchez's 16-man squad for tonight's clash and will be looking to cement his place in Sanchez's future plans.

Brunt has already featured five times for his country but a dip in form saw players such as Hull City's Stuart Elliott pip him for selection in recent squads for friendly matches and European qualifying clashes.

But Sanchez has been forced to call-up a number of fringe players eager to prove themselves following a number of injuries to regular squad members such as Jonny Evans, David Healy, Chris Baird, Roy Carroll, Steve Jones and Stuart Elliott.

Northern Ireland squad: Maik Taylor (Birmingham City), Michael Ingham (Wrexham); Tony Capaldi (Plymouth Argyle), Stephen Craigan (Motherwell), Michael Duff (Burnley), Aaron Hughes (Aston Villa), Sean Webb (Ross County); Grant McCann (Barnsley), Steve Davis (Aston Villa), Keith Gillespie (Sheffield Utd), Sammy Clingan (Nottingham Forest), Chris Brunt (Sheffield Wednesday); Kyle Lafferty (Burnley), Ivan Sproule (Hibernian), Dean Shiels (Hibernian), Peter Thompson (Linfield).
