Laws' Musings: Post-Clarets

Wednesday boss Brian Laws has his say following the Owls' 1-1 draw with Burnely at Turf Moor on Saturday - which gave them their first league point of the year.

Laws insisted his side were unfortunate not to come away with all three points in a second-half which brought Wednesday a number of chances to win the game in front of goal.

He told the official SWFC site: 'I was disappointed in the end not to come away with all three points. I thought that overall that we were the better side. Today we created, caused Burnley a lot of problems.

'We knew from the start it was going to be a tough game with the inclusions of (Steve) Jones and (Andy) Gray. We knew they were going to be more direct and try and get at us but today I thought we were very solid.'

And the Owls gaffer insisted it could be the result that kick-starts his side for the remainder of the season.

He added: 'I thought we were creative and when you look at the keepers and who was the busier of the two, quite clearly it was theirs. For a little bit of luck we could have had three points today but I mustn't groan too much after the run we've been in. This is a performance and result that will kick-start us off again,' Laws continued.

'We had to stop the rot and certainly from the results point of view we have done that. It showed good character as well and after going one down against the run of play we came back straight away.'
