Graham Bags Hat-Trick

Wednesday striker David Graham enhanced his call for a first-team start for the Owls after bagging an impressive hat-trick in the 3-1 victory over Huddersfield reserves today.

The former Wigan and Torquay hitman has yet to feature for the Owls this season after spending the first half of the campaign out on loan to League One side Bradford City.

But his impressive performance against Town - where he spent the end of last season on loan - will give Owls boss Brian Laws a welcome selection headache going in to the Championship clash with Luton Town next Tuesday.

Mark Hudson gave the visitors the early advantage at Hillsborough, before Graham kick-off his second-half trio with two strikes in three minutes before wrapping up the victory deep in to injury time.

Laws also ran the role over Algerian trialist Samir Beloufa who started the game in the centre of defence, while new-boy Jermaine Johnson, Mark Beevers and Marcus Tudgay also featured in the Wednesday win.

Wednesday: Adamson; Broadbent, Beloufa, Beevers, Gilbert; Johnson, McAllister, Adams, Lekaj; Tudgay, Graham. Subs: O'Donnell, McMenamin, Kay, Stothard, Boden.

Huddersfield: Eastwood, Racchi, Skarz, Wilson, McCombe, McIntosh, Brandon (Akins 66), Hudson, McAliskey, Ahmed, Hardy. Subs: Killock, Akins, Malcher, Codman.

All credit to Graham for sticking in there and fighting for a place. I hope he takes his chance when it comes his way.
