Laws' Scouting Mission

Wednesday boss Brian Laws will be using his free weekend to scout for potential transfer targets as he looks to bolster his squad for next season.

The Owls were scheduled to face Plymouth Argyle at Hillsborough on Saturday - bit the Pilgrim's continued involvement in the FA Cup means Wednesday have a free weekend before facing Luton on Tuesday night.

And Laws has revealed that he has five players on his list of potential targets to take a look over this weekend - but is refusing to be drawn in to naming them.

'The fact we don't have a game this weekend gives us the opportunity to recover and get our injured players back, but it also gives us the chance to look at other teams and players,' he told Sky Sports.

'We're always looking for players to strengthen what we already have, but we're looking at bringing some in for next season. We have targets already with four or five players in mind for next season. It's an on-going process.'

Nottingham Forest and Northern Ireland midfielder Sammy Clingan has been one name linked with a summer move to S6, while Laws will also be looking to boost his defencive options in the summer.
