Laws' Musings: Pre-Luton
Wednesday boss Brian Laws is hoping the weekend off will ensure his side have enough to beat the lowly hatters tomorrow night - and kick-start a winning run.
The Owls are without a win in 2007 and picked up their first point of the season in the 1-1 draw with Burnley at Turf Moor recently - but the Owls boss is hoping his men can go one better against Mike Newell's Hatters side.
'We've been in training over the weekend to get ready for a difficult game at Luton,' Laws told the official SWFC website.
'Results went well for us over the weekend, no one really overtook us so we haven't lost any ground and now it is a case of putting a run together ourselves. We've already shown we're capable of doing that.'
And Laws is hoping his side can take the improved second half performance against the Clarets in to the clash with Luton tomorrow night.
'The players have been superb in training and have responded really well. I think the inclusion of Steve Watson has brought a bit of calmness to the defence and has allowed the players around him to express themselves. I felt we finished the better side at Burnley and looked more likely to win. We need to take those positives to Luton.'
And Watson, along with the rest of the Wednesday defence, will have to be in top form to stop former Owl Drew Talbot putting one over his former club as he faces Wednesday for the first time since his £250,000 move to Kenilworth Road.
