Newell 'Not Concerned' With Owls

Luton Town boss Mike Newell has insisted he is not concerned about the Owls form going in to the Championship clash tonight - as he looks to get his Hatters side back to winning ways.

Wednesday travel to Kenilworth Road looking to collect their first three points of the year - but the points are more vital to Mike Newell's men as he looks to pull his men away from the Championship drop zone with victory against the Owls.

And the Town gaffer is hoping to pick up some 'bonus points' following two impressive draws at Stoke and Leicester in recent weeks which have given his men added confidence going in to the game.

'It would be a bonus to the points at Leicester and Stoke - not being at full strength and not having a full squad to choose from - if we win tomorrow night,' he told the official Luton website.

'Since Brian Laws has come they've had an upturn in form that's maybe levelled off a little bit of late, but they are a good football club with a good following and they have resources available to them.

'But I'm not too concerned about them - it's a win that we want. We haven't won since the turn of the year but we have put in some good performances and have been unlucky on a couple of occasions.'

The Hatters have been somewhat of a bogey side for Wednesday in recent years, with Mike Newell not having lost to a Wednesday side since his arrival at Kenilworth Road.

Lewis Emmanuel's goal give his side all three points in the reverse fixture at Hillsborough back in August, while Town also triumphed at Hillsborough the previous season, while the sides couldn't be separated on the other four meetings.

And so he shouldn't be on that performance, absolutely shocking.
