Baggies Clash Moved

Wednesday's clash with high-flying West Brom at the Hawthorns, scheduled for Saturday April 14 has been brought forward to accommodate the live Sky cameras.

The Owls will now travel down to the West Midlands on the Friday night for Sky TV (kick-off 7.45pm) as the Baggies look to continue their progression up the Championship table in search of a swift return to the Premiership next season.

The news will be a blow to some Owls fans hoping to make the trip down to face Tony Mowbray's men on the Saturday - but will be welcome for the armchair Wednesday fan or those who can't make it down on the weekend.

Wednesday haven't had much luck on live TV this season - with all threee broadcast matches ending in defeat, with a 1-0 home defeat to Leeds, 2-1 defeat at Hull City and an exit from the FA Cup at the third round stage against Manchester City in January.

But Wednesday boss Brian Laws will be hoping to put that right, despite it being Friday the 13th, after guiding the Owls to convincing 3-1 victory over Tony Mowbray's men back in November.

yet again sky "cherry pick" a match and decide on the time and date it is to be played................do they not realise fans have commitment to work/get home/ ect ??????......how come sky can be allowed to pull the strings like they are doing??????ANSWER.... MONEY!!! in the ...long term... sky will spoil it for everyone, (and I like most football fans,we love watching live games) but where will it end ????? mondays at 2:15 pm??? this has got to stop and stop now !!!!

Sky, and probably the clubs involved, don't care about anything but viewing figures and cash.

I agree with Andyowl. I would much rather play all games at 15:00 Saturday like it always has been, but on the flip side Sky Sports probably saved English Football from going down the pan, so sometimes you ahve to accept games at odd times, but I totally agree that only cup replays should only cause dates to be changed last minute. I work shifts, so plan my shifts at start of season around the fixtures, so then I find out that a game is changed with only a few weeks notice, and i am stuck at work.

Excellent news for me, Saturday morning football instead of 4a.m. on a Sunday!
