Owl Rejects Gulls Move

Wednesday striker David Graham has turned down the chance to move back to former club Torquay United this week, according to our sister site Vital Torquay.

The former Wigan hitman has struggled to break in to the first team under Brian Laws since returning to Hillsborough from his less than successful loan spell at League One side Bradford.

And our sister site has revealed that Torquay director of football Colin Lee approached Graham about a return to Plainmoor - with the Scotsman deciding against a drop in divisions.

The striker is still a big hit at Plainmoor after picking up the supporters' player-of-the-year award in their 2003/2004 campaign - and he bagged 45 goals in 98 starts during his time on the south coast.

But the Gulls are one of the favourites for the drop in League Two and could be playing Conference football next term as they sit bottom of the pile with just 26 points to show for their efforts this term.

I think a few clubs in League One might fancy him but he's never going to go there when they'll be in the Conference next season!

He's never going to get a chance with us so we may as well let him go...
