Pirate Linked With Owls

Young Bristol Rovers striker Lewis Haldane is the latest name to be linked with a summer move to Hillsborough according to the League Paper over the weekend.

The 22-year-old has hardly been prolific this season - netting five goals this term for Rovers - but he broke in to the Welsh U21 side at the start of the campaign to make his debut in the draw with Turkey.

And Owls boss Brian Laws was known during his time at Scunthorpe for bringing in young strikers such as Andy Keogh and Billy Sharp and turning them in to prolific goalscorers for the Iron.

Haldane, a product of Southampton's youth academy, has been used mainly on the right hand side of midfield this season by boss Paul Trollope - but his preferred role is in attack.

And he was sent out on loan by former boss Ian Atkins to non-league club Forest Green Rovers before former player-turned boss Trollope recalled the hitman when he took the reigns at the Memorial Stadium.

Not another striker Brian, and a league two one at that!

He'll be out on loan again once we sign him.

Waste. Of. Time. Fullstop.

Another player who was a hot prospect but looks to have lost his way. How many of these players does Laws want? He can't work his magic on all of them!
welshyowl
his record at doing it looks pretty good so far, macca, keugh, sharp

He does have an eye for young talent and I wouldn't be bothered too much if we had the defence sorted out.

No, no, no.. proven players please. And the money is better spent elsewhere!
